Edward Postell King, Jr. (1884-1958) was born in Atlanta, Georgia. He earned his B.L. from the University of Georgia in 1903, and received his commission in the 6th Field Artillery in 1908. He served with 2nd Field Artillery in the Philippines from 1915 to 1917, and later graduated from the Command and General Staff School in 1923.
